New website for Oslo's public transport

Published 22 June 2010

In collaboration with EDB Consulting and Geodata, Creuna has developed a new website (beta) for Trafikanten, a Norwegian service provider that works to promote the use of public transport in Oslo. With almost 100,000 daily users, trafikanten.no is one of the most popular websites in Norway. This fall the site will receive a new look, provide new user options, and new forward-looking technology at its base.

“The primary goal has been to create a service that makes it easier for people to travel on public transit,” says Jarl Eliassen, Trafikanten's Managing Director. “We want to make it easy to find the best route, get a traffic update, see real time departure times and other useful information for those who use public transport.”

Trafikanten is already giving its users a chance to try out the new solution. A test version of the solution has been launched, and Trafikanten hopes to receive user feedback before its final development and implementation.

“We are very satisfied with the results we’ve seen up to this point, and we believe the new solution will be well received. At the same time, we hope those who try out the new solution understand that there may be a few glitches errors, because it hasn't been fully developed yet", Eliassen comments. Those who would like to try out the new solution can visit http://beta.trafikanten.no/.

“It’s been a very exciting project for all of us,” says Solveig Engbakk, project manager at Creuna Norway. “Trafikanten is a global leader in several areas, and we’ve had fun designing a service that is both innovative and important to a number of people.”

Creuna assisted Trafikanten with the strategy, concept and design of the solution. EDP Consulting provided technical development services, while Geodata provided the mapping solution.
