New indispensable app for Metro commuters

Copenhagen’s subway company (Metroselskabet) and Creuna makes the journey even easier for Metro commuters. With the new app for iPhone and Android, travellers can easily purchase tickets, check departure times and operational information for the Metro, as well as find connections to buses and trains.

What can give Metro commuters an even better experience when they're on the go? Creuna and Metroselskabet cut to the core in the work to develop Metro's new app, one that with very few resources makes it easy and simple to buy a ticket and get an overview of the journey.

Click on "buy tickets", and the mobile's GPS detects the Metro Station nearest to you. You then receive an SMS with the ticket. The type of ticket can be set and saved as default, making it even easier to buy a ticket next time.

Rotate your phone to a horizontal position, and you can see when the Metro runs from your nearest station. A green, yellow and red line marks whether it is possible to catch up with the Metro. Additionally, you can see connections for bus and train at each Metro station.

"We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to buy tickets, and it is precisely in this spirit that we have developed Metro-app. It is exceedingly user friendly and makes it easier to buy tickets, check departure times and connections to buses and trains. We know that our customers appreciate common traffic information across bus, train and metro," says Lisa Hein, Communications Manager of Metroselskabet.

The application is developed for both iPhone and Android and has from the start received great reviews from commuters who appreciate the useful and simple features.
