Creuna makes online community for Do-It-Yourselfers

Published 21 August 2009

SILVAN has a strong position in the Danish DIY market as the building materials store that makes it easy for customers. SILVAN has gained this position by always giving good, highly-visible advice in their stores. With SILVAN Forum, an online community for DIY enthusiasts, SILVAN is now ready to take the lead online.

SILVAN Forum is the result of close cooperation with Creuna, which also developed SILVAN’s  webshop, and SILVAN. Focus was placed on strategic use of the web for marketing and customer engagement.

The concept behind SILVAN Forum is that users can ask questions of a panel of experts that is composed of specialists from among SILVAN’s suppliers. At the same time, it is also possible to get advice and suggestions from other users, who can also comment on the advice the experts give. The thought is that experts and beginners can help each other achieve better DIY results and get new ideas.

With this forum, SILVAN wants to solidify its position as the leading provider of DIY solutions and gain experience with customer attraction and social networking, so it was also important that SILVAN get its forum up and running as quickly as possible. So it was essential that Creuna complete the concept and design quickly and then implement the solution in record time. This succeeded, with close cooperation with the customer. The forum has been well-received and is being frequently used by DIY people.
