Many kids drop out of scout life when they reach their teens. To increase the attachment and loyalty of their members, KFUM-Spejderne wanted to work with those channels that kids and young people use today. This is what Creuna has helped them with. The result is a completely new mobile concept, which the KFUM-scouts call SCOUTin'.
Creuna has developed a mobile concept, that uses 2d barcodes to give the young scouts information about their friends and connects them during and after gatherings. All scouts are equipped with a barcode on the sleve of their uniform. When using their cellphones to scan a new friend’s barcode, the scouts get access to the friend’s personal online profile. They can follow each others status updates, see which courses their friends attends and what they write about themselves on their profile.
SCOUTin' bridges the gap between scout life and everyday life, as the concept happens outdoors with a cellphone in hand and at home in front of the computer, where they can write comments and messages to each other.
KFUM-Spejderne has tested SCOUTin' this autumn and is planning to use the solution for many arrangements in the future.
