Skatteetaten’s primary function is to ensure that taxes and duties are correctly determined and paid. The department encompasses among others, the Taxation Authority, regional taxation offices, tax Collectors’ offices and local tax offices. Skatteetaten is under the authority of the Norwegian Finance Department.
The Challenge
Skatteetaten is aggressively expanding its offering of web based services, with a focus on accessibility, service orientation and customisation. As a part of this work, it wanted to install a technical platform as the foundation for the organisation’s external web presence and the re-launch of skatteetaten.no. An important objective of the project was to adopt a service-minded approach to customers, in addition to providing security and stability.
The Solution
Creuna won the prestigious opportunity to develop and implement Skatteetaten’s web solution, after emerging as the winner in a stiff competition among Norway’s top ten IT services providers. Creuna has integrated and upgraded solutions and databases from the old web page. We have also developed functionalities that are capable of meeting new customer demands. Creuna delivered the service based on the content management system tool EPiServer, with integrated topic maps.
The Results
The solution has provided Skatteetaten with several benefits:
- A suitable technical platform that supports the organisation’s drive to provide web-based solutions.
- Functional, user-friendly and flexible content management service tool for web development and content management.
- Skatteetaten.no was recognised as the best Norwegian public sector website in 2004, and won the Farmand award for best public sector website in 2007.
