Continued growth consolidates Creuna’s market leadership in Scandinavia

Creuna A/S annual result, May 2008:

Creuna has attained its goals for 2007, a year in which turnover rose by 76%, and the company’s workforce grew by 64%. Creuna has thus reached a critical size in Scandinavia and established a position among the leading digital agencies in the Scandinavian market.

Creuna completed the year 2007 with a turnover of Dkr. 258 million compared to Dkr. million 147 in 2006. It produced bottom line result of Dkr. 21.9 million. The workforce has grown considerably throughout the year. The number of employees has risen from 187 at the end of 2006 to 306 at the close of 2007, an increase of 64%.
 Creuna’s Chairman Helge Lundefaret is well pleased with the result: “We aimed to have 300 employees in 2007 and we have achieved that. We have also succeeded in implementing a common strategy in Scandinavia. This adds breadth and depth to our competences in the field of branding and communication solutions for large companies. It also enhances our capabilities in technical development and implementating solutions across digital channels”, says Helge Lundefaret.

Successful recruitment and purchase of a communications bureau 

Growth in 2007 was partly organic. The company was able to attract suitable candidates throughout the year, thanks to a successful recruitment strategy, which includes a clear profile, focus on competence development, and a strong corporate culture which the employees are committed to.
Creuna has also grown through the acquisition of one of Norway’s leading communications bureaus, Cobra, with 40 employees. The integration of Cobra’s competences into Creuna’s range of services now allows the company to meet a growing demand for expertise in the fields of branding, communication and design.

Scandinavian position with international customers

In 2007 Creuna established itself both as an advisor and a development partner for large Scandinavian companies that operate internationally: “It is on account of our combination of strategic, creative and technical skills that our customers normally choose to work together with us. We help them to create a brand identity across the various digital media and to develop and implement effective online solutions that support their marketing, sales, service and R&D”, says Thomas Vejlemand, CEO of Creuna Denmark.
“Today we have wide experience in connecting customer-specific online solutions with the company’s internal processes and systems, and we can see that our customers are becoming increasingly interested in utilizing our ability to roll out strategies and solutions on an international level”, concludes Thomas Vejlemand.

Positive prospects for 2008

“We are optimistic about our chances in 2008, where after the first quarter we are ahead of budget and are up to 340 employees. We have a solid foundation for further growth through further acquisitions and continued organic growth. We aim to be up to 500 employees in 2009 and are currently assessing new markets in northern Europe”, says Helge Lundefaret.
“We expect positive growth in our primary business areas: corporate websites, online marketing, e-business and collaborative solutions. We also expect positive developments in our two latest market ventures - mobile solutions and web analysis”, says CEO of Creuna Denmark, Thomas Vejlemand.
