The challenge
The SPF company keeps 200 drivers on the road up-to-date about new regulations, day-to-day changes, press and other related information. This is a complex task. To meet this need, SPF requested proposals on mobile technology solutions that could be used to connect its information and communication processes with employees working outside the office.
The solution
Creuna has developed a new mobile intranet that makes selected information from the intranet available in the lorries, via a small touch screen. The solution includes alerts to changes in rules and processes, reading of information from Management and headquarters, a phonebook and a process-oriented graphic version of the drivers’ staff handbook. The handbook will be updated over time with a user-friendly instruction in the form of sound and video files.
For the solution in the lorries, Creuna has emphasised providing a quick overview of news in an extremely user-friendly manner, as well as integration into the drivers’ native work routines. The drivers are also able to choose reading news via a built-in speech synthesis. As the solution is available all over Europe, the SPF company is able to keep its drivers up-to-date irrespective of time and place. Creuna has advised SPF on intranet and mobile technology, as well as user-friendly online communication for target groups with a varying range of IT skills.
